After upgrade charsets fail

  • My server has always been configured with UTF-8.

    Through Apache, PHP and MySQL.

    I have run WordPress awhile and it have never failed.

    Recently I upgraded PHP from 4.4.1 to 5.1.4 and all input data on the site is shown in iso-8859-1 and all regular data is shown in utf-8.

    It is the same at all blogs on the site.

    If I access the mysql through phpmyadmin it looks normal, and other web applications on the server function as normal. I reckon this is a wordpress problem and can’t come up with a solution.

    Any ideas?
