After updated to latest version 3.0.1 have fatal error on the Square settings

    Hi,

    After I’ve updated WooCommerce Square plugin from version 2.9.0 to 3.0.1, the Square’s settings page in the admin show fatal error.

    And also found error log:

    Thanks for reaching out. I did a search and did not run across any other reports of this issue so far. Does this happen when only WooCommerce and Square are active on the site along with the Twenty Twenty theme?

    I also encountered this issue.

    I did try removing and reinstalling the app and hit sync.

    Payments failed for two days and so I have reinstalled Stripe until I can be sure the problem has been fixed.

    I am on the inverto theme. use subscriptions and memberships.

    I ran the latest update and got this error message:

    All features in Square for WooCommerce have been disabled due to unsupported settings:
    ? Invalid OPcache config: Please ensure the save_comments PHP option is enabled. You may need to contact your hosting provider to change caching options.

    I will check that out and re-try

    Fixed that error message, but when i tried to make a payment with Visa:

    I got this message “An error occurred, please try again or try an alternate form of payment”

    Hey @geoffro68,

    Thanks for working with us on this. There is an issue with Square’s SDK that’s used in our Square extension and Kinsta hosting. Kinsta has a PHP module disabled that when this is combined with their caching causes the fatal error. Since caching is disabled on the staging site, Square still works there.

    Square is working on an update to their SDK to hopefully fix this problem. You can follow along with developments about that here:

    Until that’s fixed, you may need to stay on version 2.9.1. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Just reach out to Kinsta’s support and they’ll enable the “save_comments” option for you. This is exactly what they need to do: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/#section-43

    The Kinsta settings for this are already enabled. So I’m afraid that isnt it.

    Been away for a month – i see the issue is posted as solved both here and https://github.com/square/square-php-sdk/issues/80 but I’m spewing the same error as originally following the update.

    I would quit the Square payment gateway but we’re fully invested in hardware, so would be great to understand how to fix this.

    Currently back on Stripe… EOFY is fast approaching here and if I cant solve this soon will just have to drop it. If you have any ideas how to help would be great thanks.

    I went back through the issues in our GitHub repo for Square. It’s private so I don’t have a way to share the links with you here. The developers have been very active working on a fix on our side of this but it’s not ready for release yet.

    Is there any likelihood of a fix or workaround? i haven’t rolled back to an older version, so currently been inactive for over 2 months. I used to think a couple of days was a long down time.

    It just doesn’t seem believable that ‘the developers’ have been very active working on a fix.

    I’m on Stripe now, and as much as i dislike the reporting tools, I am forced to start the process of selling all the square front of house equipment, to replace with Stripe again.

    Have you updated to version 3.1.0 yet? The issue on GitHub indicates that a fix was included in 3.0.2.

    If you’re still having trouble, have you asked Kinsta to enable the “save comments” option that was mentioned above?
