after update users cannot log into my website

  • after updating wordpress, but not sure if that is the problem, my users cannot log into my site.

    when they try and log into my they get the following message

    Error: Invalid username or password. Reset Password

    i have done a few tests and tried updating the password in the backend of my site but when i go and try and use the username and new password, i still get the following message

    Error: Invalid username or password. Reset Password

    can anyone please let me know why this is happening
