I use MainWP for almost one year now and ynchronisation with the child sites worked fine until last week when the synchronisation ‘suddenly’ stopped. I configured it with disabled wp-cron and server cron jobs as advised here: https://kb.mainwp.com/disable-wp-cron/
After testing and changing cron settings to no avail, i realized that last week i did an update on MainWP Dashboard from version 5.1.1 to 5.2.
So i reverted to 5.1.1 and the sync works again as expected.
Can anyone tell if there is a known issue or bug in version 5.2 or did i miss a configuration setting in the new version?

    Hey @benny54

We haven’t observed issues with the sync Cron job in the version 5.2.

Since you are using a server-side cron jobs, the use of WP Cron should be disabled in MainWP Settings (under Advanced Settings).

If that is disabled and the issue persists, please open a private Help Desk ticket so we can collect some additional information & investigate further. https://mainwp.com/my-account/get-support/

    Hi @bojankatusic,
Thanks for your answer. WP-Cron in mainwp advanced settings was disabled in 5.1.1 and also after the update to 5.2. As said, after reverting from 5.2 to 5.1.1 the synchronisation was okay. For now i will leave the dashboard on 5.1.1 as this works fine so far.
An other question about this synchronisation thing: Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do all the sync settings through cron jobs. Now the cron job updatecheck.php is triggered every minute and apparently it is checking the setting in mainwp configuration whereas a php file that would do the same as a manulual sync could be triggered by a cron job. This could then be a choice so that people that do not want to use server based cron jobs can leave it on wp-cron.

    Thanks for the update.

Currently, it’s not possible to use both WP Cron and a server-side cron to trigger manual syncs in the MainWP Dashboard.

Our development will look into adding support for it in a future release, though there is no ETA at the moment.

I have the same issue since updating to 5.2
For years it’s worked fine with the following in wp-config.php:

    define( 'DISABLE_WP_CRON', 'true' );

.. and an every minute cron via wp-cli : wp-cli cron event run --due-now

MainWP (advanced settings) does have wp cron on.. as it should as I understand. I’ll open ticket when I have time.

I’m definitely convinced that this is a bug in 5.2. For testing purposes i yesterday updated my 5.1.1 again (second time) to 5.2 without touching any further setting and my standard sync times are set to 06:00 and 18:00.

This morning at 06:00 the sync was due and in the Overview > Updates Overview i see: “Last succesfully completed synchronisation: 5 september 2024 06:01” (5 sept is today).

However the Sites show under Last Sync 4 september 2024 18:07.

I know the WordPress cron I trigger is working.. other WordPress tasks are being run correctly, but MainWP is not running the sync anymore. I have opened a ticket.. will see what they have to say.

Just to give everyone an update on this –

We are currently investigating this, and it’s still undetermined if there is an issue with the Cron in v5.2.

Once we have more information, I will share it with you in this thread.

If anyone is facing these problems, please feel free to open a private help desk ticket so we can

I have the exact same problem.

I created a ticket with a mainWP dashboard report.

We have released version v5.2.1 of MainWP Dashboard that addresses the issue related to automatic/scheduled sync.

Should anyone continue to face this issue, please feel free to open a private help desk ticket so we can
    investigate further:?https://mainwp.com/my-account/get-support/.

I still have the issue. WP Cron via WP Toolkit (plesk) worked before 5.2.x. Litespeed Web Server.

WP Cron in MainWP settings is activated.

Only WP Cron of WordPress is deactivated and called via Plesk WP Toolkit Cron Job two times in one hour.

Me 2. I seems it only worked one time with version 5.2.1. Sync has not been working for days now once again (with version 5.2.1).

Thanks for your patience regarding the synchronization issues. We’ve identified an additional problem even in v5.2.1, but I’m happy to let you know that our team has already completed a fix, and it’s currently in the final stages of testing.

We expect to release this update soon. In the meantime, if you continue to experience issues or have specific configurations that may be contributing to the problem, please don’t hesitate to open a help desk ticket so we can assist you directly.

Glad to hear the devs are working on the cron/sync issue that also exists in 5.2.1.
In 5.2 no syncs were done.
Now in 5.2.1 i configured the Daily sync time at 07:30 and set the frequency to Four times per day.
Now about 60% of the expected syncs are missing. It looks totally random.
In the Overview window under Updates Overview i see for a succesful sync:
Last successfully completed synchronization: 24 september 2024 13:41. So the sync took about 10 minutes for 30 sites.
For a missed sync i see:
Last successfully completed synchronization: 23 september 2024 13:31. This would mean that a succesful sync was done within one minute (???).
When i check on the Sites page i see that for missed syncs the time of the last succesful sync is showing.
When the devs need more info, i would be glad to send the needed logfiles. Also when you need someone for beta-testing please let me know.
