    Hello,

when I updated the plugin to the latest version today, it started to show old events two years old, not only upcoming. I would appreciate any help, it’s a school site, and I use the plugin provided with a Kingster template from GoodLayers. Thank you!

Hi there – having the same problem too… and I think it’s since the recent update. Latest version of WordPress, using latest version of CityGov theme by AncoraThemes. I’ve submitted a support ticket to them too just in case it’s something in the theme causing it. Thank you.

I tried to install an older version of The Events Calendar but the problem persists. I guess it could be an issue of a theme (which was also updated recently).

I tried to change the order to descending so that I see the newest events first but this is insufficient solution for me, I need to see upcoming events only.

Please let me know if there’s something new, thanks!

    Hi there

The support guy from the theme I’m using CityGov solved the problem on my site by going into Basic template settings and unticking the option “Enable updated designs for all calendar views”

Does that fix it for you too? It would certainly make sense as these designs were only introduced recently.

It’s rather a shame as I wanted to keep using the updated design, but clearly something in there is not compatible with my theme?

I don’t know why TEC is now showing you old events from way back. Maybe the current TEC works in a different way. Hopefully Support will let you know.

I think the more important question is why there are still old events in your database.

After events have passed I usually delete them and after a while empty the bin.

If you have done this then maybe your database could do with a cleanup using something like WP-Optimize or a health/error check. Please do a backup of the database first tho.

It seems that the issue is caused by my theme’s plugins update because I used my backup to restore all plugins, and updated TEC only, and everything was fine. When I updated the theme, the issue reappeared. I contacted the support, and they are working on the issue right now. Thanks all for your help.

Glad to hear that this issue has been resolved! I’m going to go ahead and close this thread, but feel free to open up a new one if anything else comes up.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Thanks,
    Jaime
