I think I found the problem:

before when a user registered using another form, for example formidable, I would set the user role as Level1.

Now with the update, even if a user role is set as Level1 if he is not set as Membership 1 (a PMP thing) he will not have access to Level1 content.

Is there a way to fix this? Or is it by choice that PMP changed the system to work this way after the update?

    Thanks.

a logged in user of a lower level when he pressed a link to a content of a higher level an upgrade messaged used to come out that I set in the advanced settings of PMP.

Now, the user is logged out and shown the non logged in message.

Could you explain the exact steps to recreate this? Are you saying the user is logged out when they view a restricted page?

Now with the update, even if a user role is set as Level1 if he is not set as Membership 1 (a PMP thing) he will not have access to Level1 content.

Roles and membership levels are completely separate things and have never been associated with each other in the core plugin. Are you using some addons or custom code to change this?

If you want, we can log in to your site if you become a PMPro member and post on our member support forums.

    Thanks,
    Jess
