first let me say that this is a wonderful plugin that I’ve used for a couple of months.
everything was working fine and then I updated postie and now it won’t fetch the mail automatically anymore. I can still manually go get it.
I tried resetting everything and choosing another check for mail time to get mail it still doesn’t work.

  • Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the link – I had tested postie and got an all good result (see below). If I run postie manually it works fine.
I am a newbie here so the rest of your link re cron jobs is a bit scary;-) But I guess that I may need to go there!

    Postie is in /home/sites/xxxxxxxxx.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/postie/
    Cron: On
    Alternate Cron: Off

It is all about traffic. No traffic == Postie does not run.
If you have a low traffic site you need to use an external service to simulate the traffic.

    OK,
It’s a live site with plenty of “traffic” but as it’s not a blog there are ZERO posts – unless I can get postie to work;-)
    Take a look: https://www.looe-fish-selling.co.uk/boats-due/

    Hi All,
OK, so I went to setcronjob.com and set up the cronjob as per here Hey presto – it works.
Paid my subscription – cheaper than time spent sorting the real problem;-) Need to do some reading on this:-)
    Thanks for the guidance…
