After update, only thumbnails is showing

After the update (8.0), everything looked like it was working – folder structure etc was as it should be. But when you click on a thumbnail in a folder to see the photo – its just blank – not showing the photo.
Tried to clear cache, reload page and save permalink but nothing has worked (different browser as well).
I have for the moment reactivated the older version (7.7) which is working. An example for the two URLs for a photo, is:
