Caldera Forms now requires PHP 5.6, which is the oldest version of PHP that still has security support from the PHP project. You should contact your hosting provider and ask to be updated to PHP7, which runs WordPress 2-5 times faster than PHP5.

If your host doesn’t offer PHP7 and free SSL, then we strongly recommend that you take a look at migrating to a quality host that offers these features.

If your site is on a server with an out of date version of WordPress, your forms will still work in Caldera Forms 1.6, but you should not update to 1.7 without fixing your server first.
