    Hello,

After updating WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant version 1.6.2.160315 there is an issue with your plugin (+ Aelia Foundation Classes for WooCommerce) that make Comet cache plugin completely inactive. If i deactivate Aelia Foundation Classes for WooCommerce, the Comet Cache plugin work again.

I am running 20 websites with Comet cache plugin, and i have a problem only with Aelia Foundation Classes for WooCommerce.

Here you have the related wordpress support thread of Comet Cache plugin:
Comet cache settings doesn’t work after updating other plugins

I have been to Aelia website, and in the news section there is a very recent post: WP Rocket now supports Aelia Currency Switcher for WooCommerce. I hope that this issue is not related to a business deal with WP Rocket.

I hope you will find quickly a solution with Aelia. Thanks and best regards.

The Aelia Foundation Classes is simply a library on which the EU VAT Assistant is based. Disabling it simply also disables all the plugins that are based on it, and that’s the reason why it seems that “disabling the AFC solves the issue” (the library doesn’t do anything, you are actually disabling other plugins too, without realising it).

The issue with Comet Cache is most probably due to a bug that we just fixed. ZenCache/Comet Cache is still our preferred solution for dynamic caching, the support implemented by WP Rocket won’t affect that.

Hello and thanks for your quick reply.

Ok at this point, if i disable WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant Comet Cache plugin still not working. if i disable the library plugin Aelia Foundation Classes for WooCommerce Comet cache plugin works again like a charm.

I have only WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant related to Aelia Foundation Classes for WooCommerce. I know that is simply a library, but the problem come from last update of WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant combinated also with this AELIA library plugin.

The issue with Comet Cache is most probably due to a bug that we just fixed.

You mean that you are fixing actualy the problem related or that is related to a bug fix, that is causing this issue?

While we are at it, I’m repeating the note that I also posted on the other thread.

I would strongly recommend to refrain from accusations of “sabotaging” other plugins, like you did on the other thread.

We don’t get paid by other teams to promote their products and, most importantly, we would never enter into an agreement geared towards the sabotage of other people’s work. Assuming that we do something like that simply based on an announcement on our site is as offensive as it is shortsighted.

We don’t take these accusations lightly, and we won’t tolerate them either.

Yes, we released update 1.6.4.160322 which is meant to fix the bugs that we indvertently introduced in 1.6.2.160315. There was a JavaScript conflict that prevented other plugin’s pages from working (including Comet Cache), and that’s now fixed.

    Hello again, and thanks…

Ok i have edit post over there and delete my wrong “accusation”, so sorry. (So may be you can modificative also your post over there).

Sorry again, thanks for your excellent strong and very reactive support ??

    Best regards.

    Cross post

For reference, the bug we found was caused by a JavaScript issue.

The bug did not prevent Comet Cache from working (the caching mechanism still worked perfectly), it simply threw an error in the admin pages, and prevented other scripts from running properly. As a result, the scripts on the Comet Cache page were not loaded, and clicking on the various elements didn’t have any affect.

Bottom line: it was a purely JavaScript issue, with no tangible effect on Comet Cache caching logic, apart from the broken UI.

Yes i have discover too that it was a Javascrit/jquery issue. thanks you

Please take your time to test Comet Cache with the EU VAT Assistant 1.6.4.160322. If you find any issue in relation to it, I would like to ask you to open a new thread, so that we can start with a clean conversation.

By the way, we use Comet Cache on our own site. It was the first plugin for which we developed a dynamic caching module (when it was still called ZenCache) and we recommend it to all customers who ask us about a caching solution.
It would not make any sense for us to sabotage our own work, after all the effort we put into it.

Very sorry again for my suspicious mind. This has began with other free/commercial plugin’s worst practices. The last one was Yoast SEO…

I would make (asap) a very nice review about your excellent plugin and your very effective/reactive support.

    Very sorry again

    Best regards

I’m not entirely sure to what you are referring in relation to the SEO plugin (we are not affiliated, but we use that plugin too and we didn’t see anything wrong so far).

Anyway, I’m glad that we clarified our position. ??
