    Hello,

I installed the plugin to retrieve the email addresses for the newsletter I have on my site. The form contains a first name, last name, and email field.

After initializing everything, all the custom fields I had created (like twitter account, etc…) in my mailchimp database all became empty.

    How is this possible?

    Thks.

I’d like to point out : there are no more fields apart from the one that are in the form…

I don’t think it’s possible for our plugin to empty out data from other contacts that didn’t use the form.

Can you share a link to where I can see the form and test it?

Maybe I misunderstood your question. I see only 3 fields in this form, first name, last name and email.

You are trying to add more field to the MailChimp audience?
You do that in your MailChimp.com account under the settings of the audience.
Only after the fields are added there you can add them to the MC4WP form.
    Is that what you meant?

Let me rephrase: On my mailchimp account I had fields like twitter, company, etc, but since I linked the plugin to my list all those fields don’t exist anymore, there’s only first name, last name, email. They’re all gone!
Is it possible that your plugin deletes all the fields I created?

    Hi,

It is impossible for our plugin to add or remove fields from your MailChimp audience.

Do you maybe have multiple MailChimp audiences, or maybe multiple different accounts?

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!

I’ll get close to Mailchimp, see if they have any information. I let you know.

With the access token, do you have access to mailchimp’s custom fields? No deletion action is possible? No chance at all?

Not via our plugin. Our plugin doesn’t have any functionality build in to be able to add or remove or even change the fields in any way.

    Hi,

Here the answer from Mailchimp support :

(…) I cant exactly pinpoint how the fields got deleted, as I dont know what actions took place, but the audience fields and form fields are linked. So, any alteration would affect each group.

    What do you think?

I can’t give any other sensible response to this beside what I already told you, that our plugin does not have any coding that could add or remove Audience/form fields in any way.
