After switching to SSL all pictures became unavailable. I reverted back to a back up just before I was switched and it did not take long until the pics became unavailable again. The last thing I did was revert back to this backup again after installing your plugin and then going in and activating it as quickly as possible but it did not correct the problem. I am fairly new to word press do you have any suggestions? Thank you Tom

My guess is these images are on a temporary domain you used before going live, or on a different domain.

You can check it using these instructions:

Hello, thanks for getting back to me. I followed your instructions. The mixed content fixer appears to be working fine.I opened the site in Google Chrome did the “Inspect element” checked “console” there were no mixed content warnings present. I viewed the page source and found no insecure links. I took a look at .css and .js files while I had all plugins disconnected, all files including pictures and theme were showing as being managed by your plugin “Really Simple SSL. When I disable your plugin and go back to http all my pictures come back. Any more suggestions?

Did you get warnings in your console that the images could not be loaded because they couldn’t be loaded over ssl?

If the images are on a different url, with no ssl certificate, they won’t load. The browser will block loading for security reasons.

So you have to move all your images to your own url, or change the url to the url with the ssl certificate.

No warnings in the console. Images are on the same server right in with my site. I just spoke to my hosting support and what they told me was my site is using absolute URL’S for the images these references are stored in the data base and your plugin does not load relative image URL’s. They suggested I find another plugin that will load relative image URL’S. Not sure if you will be fixing that any time soon. Thank you Tom

WordPress works with relative urls, there are reasons for this. The url structure has nothing to do with my Plugin. If your image urls are absolute on SSL, they are also absolute without SSL, so that can’t be the problem.

What my plugin does, is change this absolute url to https. When that happens, the images might not be visible if the url does not have an SSL certificate.

But I think it would be easiest if you send me your domain so I can take a look, because I think we are having a communication problem here.
