    Hello,

After smushing, WP Smush Pro keeps saying I have 1 image that needs re-compressing. I repeated the smush about 3 times now and no settings have been changed since. Still saying 1 image needs re-compressing.

In addition, there has been no improvement to my image optimization score on google pagespeed insights and my site still runs pretty slow.

  • Hi queena427,

Hope you’re doing well today ??

Have you checked that image inside your Media panel and see what smushing stats are saying for that image and are you able to smush it manually from there instead of using bulk smush?

In addition, there has been no improvement to my image optimization score on google pagespeed insights and my site still runs pretty slow.

I checked your site on google page speed and see that it still has some optimization reports.

First two are “Compressing and resizing” reports which means that somewhere on your site you are loading larger image than it’s html holder.
For example, your theme/plugin is loading 800×800 image inside 400×400 holder, that’s something google doesn’t like.

Other reports are for images loaded from external sources and from your theme or plugins, WP Smush can’t compress those images as it only handles images from your media folder.

You should check with your theme/plugin developers about those reports and ask for them to use optimized images inside product files.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I checked all images in the media folder and they all say they’ve been smushed. Also, I don’t know what image WP Smushit keeps complaining about. It doesn’t tell me what image. It just says one image still needs compressing. Google is complaining about IMG_9743 so I assume that’s it, but it shows as smushed already so I don’t know why smushit is also reporting that one image still needs compressing.

    Hello queena427,

Google notification of that one image is probably due to its dimensions not the compression as Predrag mentioned.

Can you tell me how this issue looks: you bulk smush, it proceed, shows that bulk is done, but when you refresh page it goes back to the same state?

It doesn’t tell me what image.

yes, it wont say – it can be only seen on the images list if any of them has button for smushing.

    kind regards,

    Hi Kasia,

Yes, I bulk smash, it says it’s complete, then a refresh or returning to the dashboard says I have one image that still needs compressing. In the media folder, all images show smush stats so they look to all be smushed already.

Hello queena427, I hope you are doing well today!

Would you please post the exact message from the Google Insights, regarding IMG_9743 image?

Also, please locate this image in your Media Library, open it and click on Smush stats. Screenshot

Please take a screenshot of the Smush Stats, post here the size and the dimensions of this image.

Also, please post here your site’s URL, so we could check why it is loading slow.

    Please advise,

    Cheers,
    Nastia
