    I’m trying to change the category for all the posts with a certain set of tags with the “Bulk Move Category by Tag” option.

    It keeps running for a while and then redirects instead of to the same page to servername/~username (where I originally installed wordpress to be able to migrate data). It hasn’t done all the posts, but there is no reason for it to stop earlier. I’ve already changed the script timeout to 800 seconds, but so far it didn’t change, not everything has been done in a certain category.
    Twice it has worked, both with <50 posts in a tag, all other times it hasn’t worked at all.

    Does anybody else have the same problem?

    How many posts are there in the category and also how much memory is available to WordPress?

    I think your server is running out of memory.

    256 Mb available for WP and amount of posts with that specific tag vary from 50 to 2500 ??

    I had expected an out of memory error instead of a somewhat “I’m finished” forwarding to the mainpage (which hasn’t been the mainpage since I installed WP) ??

    Yes you are correct. If it results in out of memory then it will result in a blank screen with an error entry in php error log. It will not go to the finished page.

    Can you send me the screenshot of the page to which it is redirecting you?

    @spiffy,

    I didn’t get any email from you. Did you use the contact from here https://sudarmuthu.com/contact/ ?

    Can you email it directly to sudar {at} sudarmuthu.com?

    Just a reminder. I didn’t receive the email.

    Can you send it again?
