    Our cart has been working flawlessly with the Braintree plugin for about five years. Today we had two of two attempts to purchase product with a credit card fail and the internal note were the same. Due to a promotion, both fails were on one product, but they were different, trusted customers.

    This morning, prior to the credit card issues, we updated to WooCommerce 5.7.0

    The fail notes on both transactions.

    “Braintree (Credit Card) Payment Failed (Authorization Failed, please verify the user for the API credentials provided can perform transactions and that the request data is correct.)”

    Just before I posted this, we updated WooCommerce for the second time today (5.7.1).

    Is there any chance that the recent updates are what caused these credit card transaction fails?

    As mentioned, the store has been working fine for almost five years now.

    TY

    Hello @wudman

    Thanks for your message! I’d be glad to help.

    Here you can find the release changes-version history of 5-7 and 5.7.1:

    * https://developer.woocommerce.com/2021/09/21/woocommerce-5-7-released/
    * https://developer.woocommerce.com/2021/09/24/woocommerce-5-7-1-fix-release/

    None includes any changes in the Braintree compatibility.

    What we will need to check is the following:

    * The notes on the failed orders
    * If logging is enabled on Braintree, let’s check if you have any errors logged in your site that can give us more clues: WooCommerce> Status> Logs and look for any recent Braintree mention on the log list.

    I’d also like to better understand your site. Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your response.

    Once we have that information, we’ll be in a better place to help.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response. Due to a WooCommerce issue, Automattic has an ongoing investigation on what appeared to be an unrelated exploit of the core WooCommerce plugin.
    As part of the investigation, Automattic just sent me a discovery that 5700 attempts to validate a transaction. This times with our Braintree failure. So we are closing this because the issue appears to be internal to our Braintree account, not the plugin.
    Thank you

    Thanks for letting us all know @wudman!
