After new install images not appearing and customise theme not working

Hello,
My site went down after the upgrade to 3.9 which seems to be a conflict with the twenty eleven theme. I followed the directions of other forum threads and deleted all of the old files keeping only the config file. htaccess wasn’t viewable.

After the new install my images are no longer appearing and the /wp-admin/customize.php page isn’t allowing any action – the page and drop downs are there but no resutls when clicking.

I’m not a developer and I only have access using a file manager not an FTP – so I can’t rename folders and I can’t see my database folders (images or posts) – when updating the new folders I had to do it file by file recreating the sub folders which was a beast and took about 2 hours.

Any help to get my images back up would be appreciated.
