Thank you for your plugin, it makes creating and reorganising pages so much easier.

In the last few weeks I’ve encountered a problem, I think the timing probably fits in with the latest update but I can’t be sure.

When I try to move a page in the hierarchy, a couple of things happen:
    1. The Swifty page takes ages to refresh, sometimes I have to click my browser’s refresh button.
    2. The page order did not change.

I’m using the latest version of Chrome and don’t have a custom admin theme.

I also have some feature requests if you’re looking for something to do:
    1. Ability to open/edit a page in a new tab.
    2. Ability to Quick Edit from Swifty.
    3. Ability to reorganise multiple pages before refresh.

    Thanks for your help!

    That for the feedback trixee!

Issue 1 is not a known issue, I just tested in combination with WP 4.4.2 and WP 4.5 but with both versions the order changes correctly.
Maybe it is due to the refresh you do because of the first issue you describe?

Before the refresh is done the order is probably not saved, that’s wat the refresh is for.
We did some resent modifications to make it faster, but with a lot of pages this can still be an issue. Hopefully we can fix this one soon.

    As for the feature requests.
    1. This has been requested before and added to the list.
    2. What options would you like to see here?
    3. I shall add this in the feature requests we already have.

Again, thanks for the feedback and using our plugin.

Thanks for the quick reply Noemi, sorry I was unable to respond earlier.

The reason I refreshed the browser is because it didn’t look like anything was happening. I’ve tried it again just now and realise that it takes about 30 seconds for the refresh to kick in, so it looks like it’s a performance issue. After the auto-refresh, the page has moved as expected. I currently have 239 pages and expect this to grow. We use WordPress as the platform for our knowledge base and use pages more than posts, so the site will get quite large.

    For the feature requests:
    1. Excellent, thank you ??
    2. I would like to see everything that is available in the regular Quick Edit. I use this to make updates to the metadata when other authors fail to do so. So I use categories, tags, other custom properties (in my case version, product), allow comments. Other plugins also sometimes insert things here, which I’ve also found useful, in particular Exclude from Search.
    3. Thanks!

Update: This is now suddenly a lot faster and after talking to our IT guy it appears backups may have been interfering. I’ll keep monitoring the timing and see if that is indeed impacting performance.

Good to hear that it got a lot faster!

The number of pages you mention shouldn’t be an issue, we have customers that have much more active pages.

I shall place feature request number 2 on our list. ??
