I have been asked to create a development copy of my website so a problem can be diagnosed by a plugin author. I have a couple of questions:

    1) Can a wordpress installation on mydomain.com be migrated to dev.mydomain.com?
    2) Does the migration only create a copy (so both installations are still there), or does it MIGRATE the original copy and only the destination copy is live?

    Hi,

You can migrate to dev.mydomain.com. Just ensure that there’s a working WordPress installation.
The migration only creates a copy of the original site and the original site is unaffected.

    Hope that clarifies.

Thank you for the clarification. I had seen a similar question posted by another user, but it did not address my second concern.
