After Mar 10, 2021 – Version 3.0 – BIG UPDATE WhatsApp won’t open

    After I updated the plugin to version 3.0 the WhatsApp buttons I had on my pages using shortcodes won’t open the WhatsApp application anymore!

    Neither clicking from the mobile nor from the desktop. Specifically:

    – When I’m from the desktop browser and I click the button, now it doesn’t do anything (literally) — I can see the WhatsApp API URL on the bottom of the browser generated by the link from the WhatsApp widget, but it doesn’t navigate there.
    – When I’m navigating from the mobile browser and click the button, it opens a new tab on whatsapp.com

    I think something broke or changed very radically.

    Any ideas to solve this?
