After Login with User Name and PSW 404 error

    When entering the site with the admin name/wp-admin the password field comes up ok, but then a 404 error comes up saying page not found.

    I can not get access to the site to make edits. I have tried on 2 browsers and tried clearing cookies.

    HELP ! Please !!!

    WebJunk, I don’t see your latest post here…. But received an email.
    To look further you need the wp-admin user name and password is that correct. I would need to send you this via email. what is your email?

    We did so many things so I am unsure exactly what happened, but here is what I suspect the problem was and the resolution.

    I had installed a plugin called “chap-secure-login”

    The last thing we did last night, suspecting there might be a problem with the password being encrypted, was to remove this plugin and then reset the password. We did this last night, and it was not working when I quit late last night.
    This morning the system did not accept the latest password, so I reset it again, and this time it accepted the login.

    So as you can see I am not sure if this was the problem but it might have been related to removing the plugin and then reseting the password after removing the plugin. This makes some sense since this plugin encrypts the password.
