• I host my site through BlueHost, and up until recently I built my site from scratch and would just FTP all the contents to my server. Then I installed WordPress through BlueHost and imported the XML of the site I had built in WordPress.com. That process seemed to work fine, and everything in the WP admin looks right, but when I view the site, it still points to my old content — all the files and things I FTPed to my server.

Anyone know why it’s doing this? Am I missing a step?

  • Hi rkwise,

I guess that’s the question that you should probably ask to the BlueHost support team as it’s probably something regarding your hosting account config…

Have you changed the nameservers for your domain name? If that’s what still goes to WP.COM?

Hey Rkwise it may be because the links were hardcoded, are you talking about links you put in your blog and page content, and I’m assuming you’re domain name changed as part of the transfer? Might want to try a ‘search and replace plugin’ which will go through all your posts and change the old URL’s to your new one.
