Hello, I believe I’m missing one final detail to get access to the wp-admin of my site elizwent.com, here’s what I’ve done:

    1. Installed WordPress software to my Host Gator account for elizwent.com

    2. Also created an SQL database in the “My SQL Database Wizard” section with all the proper details adjusted to my website

    3. Recieved “Congratulations” email letting my installation of WordPress is ready to access with a link to my wp-admin along w username and password.

    4. When I click it is ‘ blank.

It may be useful to know I have my domain registered w GoDaddy.

Please help. I’ve spent so many hours trying to figure this out by reading support threads but alas, here’s my cry for help.

  • @elizwent — GoDaddy is still forwarding your domain name to your WordPress.com site. You will need to set it to point to your new HostGator site.

Log in to your Godaddy account and go to the settings for your domain name (under My Account). The current settings are probably set to Forward to, which you will need to disable.

Then you need to change the nameservers. They are currently set to NS57.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and NS58.DOMAINCONTROL.COM, and you should set them to NS3665.HOSTGATOR.COM and NS3666.HOSTGATOR.COM (though you should double-check that with Hostgator, perhaps the values are a little different).

Your domain name is not pointing at HostGator. It is pointing to GoDaddy. GoDaddy appears to be redirecting it to WordPress.com, based on what I see when I type https://elizwent.com

Have you changed your Name Servers at GoDaddy to point to Hostgator? Probably xxx.hostgator.com where “xxx” could be anything.

If you have recently, you may have to wait as it can take 72 hours for changes in name servers to be available worldwide.

    (Sorry for the duplicate response)

    Hi elizwent,

Currently your wordpress website is updated in your hosting and nameserver. Kindly check and let us know if you have any doubts.

    Thanks
