I’m using WP 3.4.2 and just upgraded to Newsletter 3.1.0 on my website at https://www.TrustworthyCare.com. Everything is fine after the upgrade EXCEPT that I can no longer access any existing newsletters in the “Newsletters” module in the plugin nor can I create any new newsletters.

The other modules work ok, such as Subscription, Configuration, Subscribers, etc., but the Newsletters module does not.

The problem is this: When I try to edit an existing newsletter, or create a new one, I get a white screen that simply says, “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

This is obviously a pretty big problem.

Now, I also have another website at https://www.AgeAssistance.com where I’m running WordPress 3.5.1 and also just upgraded to Newsletter 3.1.0 there. On that site, I don’t have any problem editing existing newsletters nor creating new ones.

Can you suggest a solution? Could it be a problem that the problem site is on WordPress 3.4.2? I have been avoiding updating it to 3.5.1 just because I want to avoid problems that might arise with a core update like that.

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Here’s an update:
    1. I switched the https://www.trustworthycare.com site over to the same theme (Avada) as I’m using on the other site that works (www.ageassistance.com).
    2. I deleted the theme that I was previously using (Thesis 1.8.2, a rather old version of that theme) and I tried my best to erradicate all signs of it.

Then I took the update to Newsletter 3.1.3, and the problem STILL occurs.

There are still some vestiges of the Thesis theme, including extra fields in the Post type when I create new posts. I speculate that Thesis is at the bottom of all this, but I could certainly be wrong about that.

For now I have just rolled back to Newsletter 3.0.9 and its functionality is satisfacotry for my needs right now.

I don’t know what do do to solve this problem, but for now, I’ll just stay with 3.0.9 and go back to getting work done on other fronts.

I don’t think a theme can cause that. Im my opinion there are old files referenced for some reason.

With an FTP access I can probably solve the problem, if you want. Or at least an administrative access, but it probably is not enough to check the installation.

Ok, I accept your very kind offer of help. I will be happy to grant you FTP access. How can I send you the appropriate credentials without doing it here on this public forum?

    Thanks,

For everyone else’s benefit, here’s what Stefano discovered. I had made a mistake when I set up the folders and files in wp-content/extensions/newsletter/emails/themes to save my custom email themes. Here’s Stefano’s explanation:

“problem solved. On wp-content/extensions/newsletter/emails you copied the full “emails” folder probably while trying to create a new theme. Only the theme folders can be copied otherwise Newsletter assumes you are customizing the core file and loads them.

I removed the file leaving there only the themes.”
