    Installed this plugin and immediately my blog (posts) became unlinked from my posts page. In other words, though my posts themselves are still visible if I link to them directly, WP’s built-in “posts page” shows an error, and will not link to them, whether I set the posts page to be the main page of the site or a sub-page (as I had it before).

    Tried deactivating, uninstalling, nothing helped. Fiddled with various WP settings after Googling the problem, but none of the suggestions (editing/deleting .htaccess, resetting permalinks, repairing database, etc.) fixed it.

    Is there some strange code that somehow broke this setting? I just restored a backup of the SQL database that I made several months ago, and that solved the problem — but I lost all the changes I made in the last 3 months, so I’d obviously like to back up to my latest version of the database (which I made just before restoring the older one) and try to fix what’s wrong with it, instead.

    Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated!

    UPDATE: Okay, this is weird…

    I went back to my most recent database backup (from earlier today), since there were just too many changes in the last 3 months, and I didn’t want to have to try to redo them all. I figured I’d find a way to work around my missing blog main page for a while.

    But, I decided to try one more thing first: I re-activated your plugin, then went to its posts.

    For some reason, I think when I deleted the plugin earlier, it kept a call-to-action post I’d made when I first tried the program out. So I went to the trash, permanently deleted the posts in there (emptied the trash), and suddenly my posts page was back to doing what it was supposed to do — linking to my blog posts. Emptying the trash in the Wen Call To Action plugin restored my WordPress posts page! (I told you it was weird.)

    Needless to say, I won’t be messing with this plugin anymore — and I’m not writing this update to vent… I merely thought you’d want to know about my experience, in case it’s something you might want to address.

    Hello,

    As you said this is weird. I am trying to find out what may have caused this problem. Can you please explain me the step after which you got the error? I tried following to reproduce the error but no success.

    * Install CTA plugin and activate Twenty Fifteen theme
    * Create CTA post.
    * Then under Front page displays I assigned pages for Front Page and Posts Page.
    * Add shortcode of CTA to the Front Page.
    * Checked front page and blog page and they are working as expected.

    Can you please check above steps to reproduce the error?

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply. Alas, I don’t dare try to reproduce the error, because if I do, there’s a chance I wouldn’t be able to fix it again. And that’s not worth the risk for me. Sorry, I know that’s not helpful to you, but I just don’t want to break my site again. ??

    Closing ticket.
