• I tried upgrading today to the newest version of WP, and everything went well until after the installation. After the install, when it gives you your username and password to login, there is a log in button that you can click. When I click that button, it takes me back to wp-admin/install.php (where you’re asked for your blog title and email address). It’s like I’m stuck in this install loop that I can’t get out of.

I tried a new wp installation package to see if maybe the files I was using got corrupted, but that didn’t do any good. Still stuck in the install process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Your wp-config.php is missing or has gone bad.

Restore your wp-config.php from your backups and try again.

hey thanks for the reply. the wp-config.php is not missing, and i don’t think it’s gone bad. i’ve tried using a new one from the install package several times but it still isn’t working = (

Try shutting down your antivirus before login attempt.

I’m actually using a mac and I don’t have antivirus on my machine. You don’t mean on the server right?
