After each plugin update we’re redirected to Pretty Links promo page! STOP IT!

Redirect? Can you explain? I’ve not installed this plugin but it sends you off of your dashboard?

@jdembowski no, it’s not an off-site redirect. It’s an admin page that shows the highlights of Pretty Links 3.0. Similar to the update screen WP does after major updates.

@csigncsign sorry for the troubles, sounds like the redirect may have been cached by your browser. If you’re using the Chrome browser, some have able to clear redirect caching in Chrome by visiting chrome://settings/clearBrowserData in their address bar and from there only clearing “cached images and files”. I’m not sure how far back you’d have to go, maybe before this started happening.

I use Firefox Desktop and my cache is cleared. No matter at which of my sites, every update of Pretty Links leads me to this annoying promo page (not off my site @jdembowski but away from my plugin update page).

@csigncsign I’m not able to reproduce this, but I have seen reports that others are experiencing the same redirect issue in Google Chrome. The page should only display once after each update with a 307 (nocache headers set) redirect, so I’m not sure what’s happening.

If you temporarily disable the Pretty Links plugin does the redirect stop happening?

But I do not want to see ANY PROMO or what ever page in my WordPress backend of Pretty Links! Not once, not twice, I simply would like to see my plugins’ update/overview page and not other things that I do not want!

Oh, so you’re not seeing it every time you click on the plugins list, just after an update?

It was with every update!
Where can I prevent that plugin authors show me content away from my WP backend?

We will look into altering it to only show after major updates. It never redirects away from the /wp-admin/ though. I thought you were initially saying it was happening every page load.
