after 2.8 upgrade, can’t see control panel for editing posts

  • I upgraded from 2.7.1 to 2.8 – did automatic upgrade, and no I did not do a backup (I know I should have … my previous upgrades were trouble-free so I guess I expected no issues). ANYWAY – here is my problem. The site displays fine, nothing was lost, but the admin interface no longer works as expected. When I go to edit an existing post, I cannot see the “control panel” (not sure if that is the correct term) – i.e. the buttons and checkboxes offering me options such as publish, preview, update, punlic/private, etc. Any ideas how I can restore this?
