Afraid of upgrading

  • I am running two sites where one of them have a custom theme I payed a developer to produce. It is running just as I want without problems on 2.5.1.
    This theme need a range of plugins in order to function as I want. I have really nice permalinks, a nice xml sitemap, and all in one SEO pack is doing its job excellent.
    My only problem have been image upload since my host wont let me to turn of mod security for the upload file, so I had to find and upload a hack using a beta version on google. But it works.
    If I upgrade to 2.6 (I have backups of absolutely everything) manually and everything fails, will I get back my old nice working web if I reinstall my backups?

  • So long as you have a backup of both the database and the files then you can just restore them and you will be back to where you were if it goes wrong.
