Affiliate links look fine in visual editor but are published as html links

I published an article that looked fine yesterday– now when I look at the published page the hyperlinks have become html links. What a mess– I would like to know what I did wrong and how to change it back to how it looked before, where each hyperlink is the title of the item and links back to the affiliate. Should I be using a different affiliate link? I wasn’t copying and pasting the affiliate links directly into the editor, but this is how it looks.

I’m not an experienced programmer but I’m a quick learner so I appreciate as much detail as possible in your answer. Thanks to anyone for taking the time to look at this.
