• Hi guys, I am trying to create an affiliate link in my blog using the link button but when you go to my site and click the link it just goes back to my site with an error 404. I don’t get it, all I’m doing is placing my affiliate link in the function and no other address. Please help..Grant

  • Grant,

Please look at this page, AWM’s Kindle Store, and tell me if this is the type of thing you want to do with your affiliate links.

Also, scroll down in the blog articles on the Home page, and you’ll see the Kindle affiliate link there.

If either of these examples is what you want to do, please write again.

I didn’t have to do anything with functions. All I did was paste the code provided by Amazon into my HTML code.

Hi DaisyMariposa, no, all I want to do is make a bit of text into an affiliate link just like this one that I already have, regards..Grant

    Grant,

I’ve been a member of various affiliate programs for many years. It was, and still is, that each program I joined provided the affiliate link(s) to me.

I’m not certain I understand what your question is …

Do you have an affilaite program, and you want to create a link so others can join your program?

    I’m sorry I can’t help you.

DaisyMariposa, It’s a pretty straight forward question, I obviously already have an affiliate link, it’s just that when I try to use the link function in wordpress, it does not direct people to the affiliate page, it just takes them to my page with the error 404.
I just highlighted some text and tried to make an affiliate link using the link function, that’s it! and it did not work. Maybe the link button doesn’t work for affiliate links? Maybe you have to paste it into your code every time, I don’t know…Grant

I understood what you wanted. I am looking for the same thing. If you found an answer please share it.

Hi thebusysingleparent, if you are having the same problem that I was having, don’t paste all of the affiliate link, just the affiliate address (which is your special affiliate code) I have to go now but if you need to know more I can get back to you soon..Grant

thebusysingleparent – paste the link here using the code formatting so I can take a look at exactly what you’re trying to put into WordPress – thanks.
