• I am about to make changes to my organization’s existing website and want to make sure that I’m not missing any important steps, since I am relatively new to wordpress and our resident tech person is out on maternity leave. We use divi theme and I’ve spent some time watching tutorials & practicing, so I think I know how to do this now, but want to make sure I’m not skipping any important steps/going to mess something up.

I want to add a new page to the website to host a series of new blog posts, and then feature these on the home page. To do this, I have made a new category of posts and set up a page with a blog feature that will collect posts from this category (the page is currently listed as private, which I will make public later). My next step is to change the menu setting (under appearance) to add this new page and list it as a sub item, so that this page shows up in a drop-down menu in the header. I will also add a blog module to the homepage and set it to include the right category of posts in its feed. My main question is, does this sound okay/is it risky to make these changes on a live site? We don’t get a lot of traffic, but obviously don’t want the site to get messed up.

Apologies if this is unclear or if I used the wrong wording, and know it’s difficult to determine since you can’t see the site, but I would appreciate any advice/guidance you have. Thanks in advance!
