    Hi Hugh!

    Hope you are doing well since I last passed by here. SSP has been working like a charm since we installed it and we really love it!

    We have been using SoundCloud until now to host our files but we decided to move them to another host. I just wanted to know if simply updating the media file link in past episodes would do the trick or if some issues were to be expected. Any similar experience before?

    Thank you again for this wonderful plugin (and the add-ons that I discovered not so long ago ^^).

    Changing the link won’t cause any issues. In fact, because SSP masks the URLs to be custom rewrites, your RSS feed will remain exactly the same and podcast readers won’t even notice a difference. Even if they did though, it wouldn’t cause anything to break ??

    Great news!
    Thanks, again, for your quick and thorough reply Hugh. ??
    PS: nothing related but I’m following your blog and I don’t recall seeing any update lately. Is that the best way to follow what you are working on (being SSP related or not – just really appreciate what you do) or do you recommend an other channel (social media,…)?

    To be honest, I don’t post on my blog anywhere near as often as I should, so Twitter is probably best – there’s me (@hlashbrooke) and the Twitter account for SSP (@SSPodcasting).

    Hi Hugh!

    Sorry to bother you again but we did got an issue after updating links… and it’s quite a weird one!

    I changed 2 links for testing purpose. Everything was ok. This morning, we published a regular blog post. And then, my podcast playing app showed one of the 2 episodes as “unplayed” but with a wrong title and a wrong featured image (content is good though). The title and the featured are the one from the regular post we published today (??!!). Have you seen anything like this before?

    I checked our podcast feeds and actually both updated episodes have the same issue (title and featured image from last published regular post). One of them didn’t appear in my app because it’s too old I guess.

    Here are some links:
    – main podcast feed: https://agi.to/feed/podcast
    – updated episode #1 series feed: https://agi.to/feed/podcast/les-agites-de-la-classe
    – updated episode #2 series feed: https://agi.to/feed/podcast/les-agites-hs

    You should be able to see the 2 different episodes with the same title and featured image (the soccer one).

    For info, the SSP generated podcast page is showing all episodes correctly (https://agi.to/podcast).

    Setup and Settings
    – latest version of WP and SSP ;
    – SSP Settings > General: nothing checked;
    – SSP Settings > Publishing: External feed url: https://artsdufle.podcloud.fr/rss (has the same issue, of course)
    – podcast episodes are added to site main RSS feed with a snippet in functions.php

    What changed in the last few days
    – updated 2 media file links
    – added SSP stats add-on
    – added Media Player Style Kit plugin
    – embedded player through shortcode
    – … published a regular blog post! ^^;

    Any idea about what is happening? Have you seen that before? I’m not sure this is a SSP related issue but I’m quite puzzled about it so I preferred to drop a line. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Hugh!

    I tried one other thing in order to narrow down possible causes of this weird issue. I just updated 2 more episodes but this time, I didn’t touch the link to the media file (still hosted by SoundCloud): I just replaced the SoundCloud embedded player by SSP shortcode ([podcast_episode episode=”4003″ content=”player,details”]). Result: same issue! The 2 updated episodes get the title and featured image of the last regular blog post!?

    I’ll post here if I try something else for you to have as much info as necessary.

    Have a great week-end. ??

    Me again!

    Just tried one last thing: instead of using SSP shortcode, I used WP native [audio] and the issue is resolved!

    I of course would much prefer to use your shortcode for the various “details” links (download, new window,…). If you find a workaround or maybe know what could cause an incompatibility with my theme (?), plugins (?), please let me know.

    Fred

    PS: sorry for the 2 extra posts today. My intention was not to rush you. I only wanted to give as many info as possible. ??
    PPS: I left 2 episode2 with the issue in case you need it for testing. You can see them in last position on: https://agi.to/feed/podcast/les-agites-de-la-classe
