• We are creating a website for a business that has about 10 products they sell. We’d like the customers to be able to order on line, via email, by completing a very simple order form.

I’m thinking of using a generic contact form – and modifying it so the customer would complete their name, address, phone, email address, and then, there are a few lines where they enter a quantity, and the description of what they want. Then, they hit the ‘submit’ button and we would have their order via email.

The order form does NOT need to calculate a total amount due.

Is there a plug-in or module you recommend for this? Is a generic contact form, similar to an email contact form, a good possibility?

Looking for suggestions so we know what our options are.

    Thanks!

  • Are you planning on them submitting a credit card number? If so, I’m gonna say that’s a BIG no! A simple mail form is by no means secure and you’d be risking their CC info being stolen. I personally wouldn’t feel at all comfortable placing my order this way. I suggest you either search for a free shopping cart or purchase one.

No, no credit cards. No payment information whatsoever…. just this:

    Name
    Address
    Phone
    Email
Qty of item desired (may be of multiple items)
Name of item desired (may be multiple items)

Do you think the contact form would be OK for this?

    any other possibilities?
