Advice on Switching to Eksell
-
I am looking for a new theme as I’ve been told that my existing theme (Rebalance by Automattic) is a bit dated (something about my horizontal nav being on 2 rows). Separately, I’ve discovered that the Rebalance theme hasn’t been updated in over two years with no plans to update it.
- Is this a relatively easy switch seeing that my current site is also compatible with Jetpack Portfolio Custom Post type? (I think most of my featured images are 1200px wide.)
- Can the filtering categories on the homepage be the Project Types from the Jetpack Portfolio?
- I notice that the tagline “A Free Portfolio Theme” is hidden from the mobile portrait viewport. Can this be brought back if desired? (How?)
- I too would like see a horizontal nav option, at least on desktop. As a budding UX Designer I might need to show that I know that it’s better to have visible navigation. (I do like your clean less-is-more design though! I’m torn!) One idea I’ve had is for a combo solution on desktop: A horizontal nav bar with the sub-menu items appearing in your left nav. (Material Design is sort of doing something similar. However I would prefer to have signifiers next to top level menu itons – e.g. a caret icon or something – to indicate where there are sub-menu items). Is this something that I could put forward as a feature request?
- Another feature request: An accordion block with your styling.
Thanks so much, love the theme,
