Advice on redirection

Could anyone help me on how to redirect from an author page url to a user profile url.
I am trying to redirect from:
https://sitename.com/author/john/
to
https://sitename.com/usersultra_profile/john/
This works fine as configured above but I want it to apply to all my users without having to set up redirections manually for every user.
I would be very grateful for help on how to do this if it’s possible.
