Advice on Permalinks

    Hi everyone,

    I’m just working my way through learning about SEO on WordPress.

    One area that I have found some confusion is Permalinks…

    In the Codex is says “Starting Permalinks with %category% is strongly not recommended for performance reasons.”

    But I have found quite a few articles on SEO that recommend using /%category%/%postname%/
    for them !

    So I’m wondering why I am seeing this conflict of information & is the Codex warning real – I have one site set with this Permalinks settings and the performance seems fine !
