Advice On Floating A Plugin Working Via Shortcode

    I hope someone can help me with this. I have very minimal css knowledge and I have tried to sort this out but so far have had to luck. I brought a plugin which creates boxes that can be customized. However, I wanted to float / align the box on the right (or maybe left) of the page, and I just cant get it to work. The problem is the box works via shortcode so I am not sure if that has an impact. The box in question is on this page https://bit.ly/Ho7wzF
    I have tried creating a div id to make the shortcode float left or right using

    .myslideshow {
    float: right;
    width: 45%;
    }

    but that didnt work.
    Any help would be very gratefully received. (I have asked the plugin creator but he doesn’t respond to support tickets).
