My project is to produce an archive for a large family who have many hundred photographs with little information associated with them. They want to store as much family history as possible whilst they still have members of the family who can provide the information they have in there heads.

My idea is to create a post for each image and allow the family to document the people in the photo along with some background info on the location, date etc.

I thought of creating a pod for the images, and a pod for the people in them and relating them.

They would also like to document a biography for the people as they are added including DOB, place of birth, father, mother etc.

So each image will have one or more people, each person will be in 0 or more images. These should be fairly simple from what I’ve read up on Pods. However, I’m still unclear on linking a variable number of entries per image and the best way of setting up the basic family tree details of mother and father details when these may or may not already be in the people Pod.

It’s not a complex structure that I could easily achieve in another language and with MySQL etc, but I want to achieve this within WordPress and Pods seem like the best option.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

    Pete
