Advice for listing links categories

Hey folks,

I want to use a page of my site as a link repertoire so I need to tweek the wp_list_bookmark function a little and need some advise.

First, I’d like to list only link categories but not the links themselves, and make the link categories clickable.

Then, I would like those links to leed to specific pages or to open a drop-down menu so the links of that category appear.

Anybody can give me some piece of advise?
