• Hi, I have recently set up my blog at https://www.whiskeylima.com and would be interested in hearing any feedback on it. It’s a graphic design blog so I’m trying for a good blend between pretty and practical.

I know it still needs more content, because that’ll make the site more useful, as well as improving google position etc.. etc.

but I don’t really want to keep going if what I’m doing is wrong!

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

hmm.. well all my other images are there.. it just seems a bit bizarre that this one image doesn’t want to work.
I’ve tried uploading it a few times in case it didn’t work the first.. but no success. I’ll try moving it like you suggest next time.

Can’t quite remember why, but perhaps it might be an idea to keep all of the images outside of the includes folder? Saves any upgrade hassle at least if /includes had to be deleted maybe.

    Maybe try resaving puffin.png? ??

I’ve managed to get puffin.png to work within my posts.. so if you click on my post and go to that page, it works, but when you’re on my homepage it doesn’t!

still struggling to get link to work when I put in RSS Icon too..
and formatting text – although that’s more of a time issue. Full time job + girlfriend + two websites in pipeline = not a lot of time for the finer details!

    – not to mention the piles of validation errors I have..

No problems at all, whiskeylima ?? The main thing is that the website works just fine. The layout is just fine-tuning~ I can’t say my sites are perfect. Months on, and I still haven’t got round to fixing validation errors (was more concerned about reducing the loading time of the site :D)

I’m getting a little bit confused.. what steps do I have to take to put in an image with a link in it?
does it mean adding the image in the stylesheet, but putting the link in the applicable .php file?
is there not an easier way?

Actually, I don’t think you can just link to an image that you’re including as a background in the CSS file? As far as I know, the image should sit in the actual template.
