• In the current Adventure Journal 2.0, I can find no way to change the height of the header; I don’t want it 360px high.

I also can’t find a way to insert a logo image instead of the name and tagline.

The readme.txt from back in 1.5 lists both of these as possibilities, but no way to do them.

  • If you post a link to your site, someone will be more likely to help you — people have to see the actual code.

Thanks, though I’m not sure how that’d be helpful, since it’s a question about how to make modifications within a particular theme which supposedly provides options I can’t find. There are no errors on the site.

Modifications for things like that can be made in the CSS file — but for someone to be able to tell you where to make the change, they have to see the code.

jnnydnti, login into your account. Access your dashboard. Make sure the Adventure theme is activated. On the left hand side of the screen let your mouse cursor hover the appearance section. A small second window will pop out. Select theme options. Scroll down to custom header height. Here is where you can change the height of the header. The width can’t be changed though.

This theme option section is also where you can insert your own custom logo image.

It’s is a great theme. Hope this helps.

Boba, I appreciate the attempt, and that’s exactly where I’d expect it to be.

However, in the Theme Options I ONLY have the layout options–“One column”, “two column-left”, etc.

There’s nothing to scroll down to.

This is Adventure Journal 2.0. I see 1.7.2 is what’s available on the WP site. Maybe I need to downgrade?

Yep, that was it. I deleted 2.0 (which came with the new WordPress installation) and installed 1.7.2, and there are LOADS of options.

Works great! (Well, it resized the header vertically instead of cropping it, but I can fix that.)

Missing options must be a bug in 2.0.

    Thanks!

You CAN change the height in the CSS code.

Just FYI, there is NO Adventure Journal 2.0. If you see a 2.0 version anywhere, it is fake.

The next version of AJ will be called Adventure Journal 2, and it will be a completely separate theme due to DRAMATIC differences in the way it’s built and structured (unlike AJ 1.x, AJ2 will not be based on TwentyTen or TwentyEleven).

Generally, the look of the theme will be staying the same, and the same list of headers will be included… but behind the scenes, the entire theme has been rebuilt from the ground up. There will probably be one more update bringing Adventure Journal to 1.8, but going forward AJ2 will be the only one that is actively maintained.

Adventure Journal 2 should be available by the end of May.

Hi, Matt! I was hoping you’d pop up.

It’s being distributed with the “One Click” installation of WordPress available at DreamHost. The “Deluxe” installation includes a bunch o’ themes.

First among them is “Adventure Journal 2.0-wpcom by Contexture International”. It links to https://www.contextureintl.com/ as the source.

Oy vey. Thanks for the notice, jnnydnti. I have a Dreamhost account too, so I’ll check that out and see what’s going on.
