    Hi, I’m trying to make use of the Customiser section but I’m having trouble with certain options. One thing I’d like to achieve as it works with the core built sections is nested sections.

    So for example, instead of having;
    – Section 1
    – Section 2
    – Section 3
    – Section 4

    You instead have the following;
    – Section 1
    – – Section 2
    – – Section 3
    – – – Section 4

    I couldn’t seem to find anything in the Codex that let’s you have a section within a section. It must be done somehow as it’s built into the core, can this be accessed at theme level?

    Thanks!

    Hi Daniel!

    Are you asking about panels? Panels can have sections and within those sections you will have the designated controls unless I’m misunderstanding the question somehow.

    Hi Jose, um I think so yeah.

    Anything that means I can have sub categories in the customiser sidebar for options and settings instead of long lists of tick boxes etc, yes.

    If you could help that’d be great! ??

    Thanks for the link that is perfect, is it possible to have multi layers of panels and sections by any chance? I’m looking to implement at least one more level to my panels but I’m not sure of the right syntax though.

    Thanks a bunch though!

    Weird that panels aren’t referenced in the Codex at all.

    I thought only sections, settings and controls exist!

    Feel free to edit that if you want. It is a wiki. A lot of that is also being used in:

    As for multi panels, in the words of Al from Home Improvement: I don’t think so, Daniel. It may require a little more work but I’m sure it is possible just not with the current implementation.

    Hope that helps!

    Okay well not to worry! Thanks for the help, saved me many hours! ??

    I might need to look into the Codex then as I was surprised it wasn’t in there.
