Advanced Search Plug-in Recommendation?

  • I am looking for any recommendations/suggestions regarding which search feature to use on a site I will be developing soon.

    The site will contain a list of different businesses and I want users to have the option to search that list by category, business name, and/or region. I would like the category and region portion to be a drop down list, and then the business name would be a normal text field.

    Is this something I can easily do through WordPress?

  • I’d love to know the answer to this as well. Essentially, the built-in search only searches posts, so if you have data that’s NOT in a post, I’m not sure what to do. If I figure it out (hopefully tonight, actually) I’ll let you know.
