I’m not sure what you’re asking ….. you want to kick off a search form from the menu?

Sure, that’s no problem. You can build out your menus any way you wish.
You can automate it to point to a search reuslts page, or a Category of posts, or Tags, or a specific post. Whatever you want.

A URL to a site that you are describing would help.

@corrinarusso Thank you for taking the time to message me. I had looked at the plugin and have done so again since your message. I may have missed something but i can’t see the function of search directing to a custom page.

I think the magazien link is great but i sense i would get lost trying this.

@bigmoxy Thank you for your message i had looked at this plugin and thought it couldn’t do what I need but after following your link I am much more hopeful this might work as i discovered you can create a custom page a destination for the search. I have messaged them with a few questions so fingers crossed! Have you used the plugin much?

Yes, I use the paid version of Ajax Search Pro on a site with custom post types and advanced custom fields. It works quite well. I have also engaged their support on a few occasions and found Ernest the developer to be very responsive. I highly recommend the plugin! I think it it well worth the modest price.

@bigmoxy Thank you that is really good to know i have been doing some research and was thinking about approaching things the same way.
