Advanced Search Autocomplete/Dropdown only triggers with keydown

I’ve gotten GD setup on our site and I’m pretty happy with the way things are moving after finally figuring out some more settings, but I’m still having issues with the autocomplete on advanced search.

I have min characters set to 2, so if I type 2 or 3 characters I should be getting results. the issue is that I am getting them but I have to click in the input again or hit keydown on the keyboard to activate the dropdown with those results

Is there not a way to make the dropdown/drawer automatically open when results are triggered?
