Advanced options are missing for page editing

  • The Advanced options are missing when I go to edit a page. The result is that when I save the page, it loses its heirarchy among pages.

    I’ve read a few other topics with this problem and attempted their solutions to no avail.

    – I’ve disabled every plug-in, including Akismet but that did not work.
    – I’ve updated my All In One SEO Pack plugin, which worked for 5 minutes and then the advanced options went missing again.
    – I have no categories at all (as was suggested to be a problem for another person), so that’s not the issue, either.

    Nothing I’ve tried has worked.

    I think the problem is within wordpress itself.

    I would upgrade, but I’m afraid that it might break everything if I do.

    Is there a real solution to this problem?

  • – I have no categories at all (as was suggested to be a problem for another person), so that’s not the issue, either.

    Wouldn’t think that would be an issue as Pages don’t have categories or tags. But you do have a least one category (beside the point, I know!)

    If you have backups of your files and database (WordPress Backups) do not fear an ugprade.

    If you Write a new Page, do you have those Advanced options?
    If you Edit (or Write) a Post, do you have Advanced options?
