    Hello,
Thanks for trying WP Edit. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hmmm… this is really weird. How do I miss things like this??

Okay, I don’t think that is the advanced link button. I think that is the full screen button. I think the full screen button may have been removed in WordPress 4.3. I’m not seeing it when I load a default version of WordPress in the TinyMCE editor.

If you go to the WP Edit admin page; do you see the button for “Advanced Link” in the placeholder container? It should be there.

I’ll have to remove the “full screen” button from the code… so we don’t see that empty button in the settings page.

My answers doesn’t seem to get posted… or are they only hidden from me?

okay – maybe it was due to a link.

I don’t understand. You should definitely be able to see your answers. I can see the one above:

So when I post a link, the comment disappears ?

    Weird.

Well, no, I don’t see any advanced link. but when I hover above the empty space, the tool tip text is all about the advanced link…

when I included this link (but with no spaces, like it should be), the comment didn’t get posted:

    Hmmm…

Try clicking “Save Buttons” on the WP Edit admin page; “Buttons” tab.

Watch for an admin notice. It should tell you if any buttons have been added or removed.

Does that remove the empty box… and still allow you to access the “advanced link” button?

    (@niwin)

Nope – it is still the same (empty space).

And just to be on the safe side I installed WP Edit on my clean dev site with the wp standard theme and no other plugins installed, to check if the error was due to a conflict with the theme or some other plugin. but the problem is exactly the same om my clean site: empty space with this tool tip text:

Okay; I’m going to test this thoroughly later tonight… and I’ll reply back by morning.

Thanks for sticking with it; and providing the feedback.

    No problem. Any progress?

I’m not sure if this would be a possible work around: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/167685/add-css-class-to-link-in-tinymce-editor

But I’m able to implement that – too complicated for me…

I just uninstalled WP Edit… double checked to make sure all database table options were removed… then installed it again (for the first time).

Everything appears to be working fine. The button (and image) are there; I can add it to the editor rows; and I can click it and the dialog opens.

You can try going to the database tab; and resetting the plugin options. See if that loads the button properly.
