I’m using “Advanced Custom Fields” plugin to add additional metadata for my posts, like many people do, but right now there’s no way to have those printed, so support for it would be great.

Thanks for more feedback @raladic ????!

I thought this would come up eventually! You’re right, basically there is no support currently for ACF. Print My Blog just grabs your post’s content (via the REST API) and dumps it onto the page. But good news is that you can help shape this new feature!

Can you explain some more how you’re using ACF for your page, and how you would like it to work in Print My Blog? Eg can you give me some examples of custom fields you have defined, what their content is, how those custom fields affect how the page looks?

I’m using my blog to track a project I’m building and as such, I’m using ACF with a field to track the time I’ve spent on each part, so I can do aggregations of total time per parts.
So I have a numerical field “Hours” that is part of every post and I’ve modified the theme to show that field visible on the posts, as well as aggregates in the Categories on the side bar.

That being said, for the purpose of printing, it would basically be nice if I could just pick to add ACF fields to the other metadata at the top of a post like the date, Categories and Tags already are.

Ohhh that sounds like a good idea and rather easy to implement. You’d probably want to pick the ACF fields to show, right? (Rather than always show all of them)

Yes, if I could just pick which ACF field to add to the metadata for printing, that should do the trick.

Ok cool. I’ll add this to my list of features, although I’m not sure when I’ll get to adding it. (Were just putting our house for sale and going on a short trip so my schedule is shot). I suspect others will benefit from this feature, but if anyone else chimes in requesting this it will move this ahead on my priorities.

Closing seeing how this is a feature request. I’ll track progress on the GitHub issue I linked to earlier
