• Recently my advanced-cache.php file started disappearing, and I receive an error message in WP Settings:

    advanced-cache.php link does not exist
    Create it by executing:
    ln -s /blog2/wp-content/plugins/wp-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php /blog2/wp-content/advanced-cache.php
    in your server

Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.

Since I am Yahoo hosted, I don’t have shell access to execute the required command (or, ignorantly, don’t know how to accomplish this). So I make a copy of the wp-cache-phase1.php file, renamed it advanced-cache.php, and placed it in the wp-content folder.

That works for a while. But after an hour or so, the new file disappears from my FTP directory!

I am running WP 2.6, my blog is biofuelsdigest.com. The problem is slowing down the site response considerably during peak times, and driving me a little nutty.

Some additional information. The file advanced-cache.php disappears when WP Cache manager is run.

Thanks for any insight offered if you have encountered this problem before.

    Hi jml1618,

I have the exact same problem with Yahoo hosting. (No obvious way to execute the command on my hosting server)

Did you ever get this resolved?

    I’m on 2.7.1

    Thanks,
