advance config and cache expiration

Quick question about expiration and advance config. I understand that with advance config, we bypass PHP and expiration feature no longer works.

Can I schedule a WP cronjob to trigger “ce_clear_cache” action to clear cache?

Based on my understanding of how CE plugin works, that should work just as well.
